Flip-Flop: Things to know about Dos and Don’ts

Flip-flops, the most casual of casual shoes, shouldn’t have a set of regulations, should they? Of course, it depends on who you ask. However, no matter how you cut it, certain people will always look down on them. Most other individuals will only frown on them sometimes. You can even wear Wedding flip flops on your special occasion. We will go through the fundamentals of flip-flop etiquette below.

But first, let us clarify what flip flops are. Flip-flops are technically thong sandals. Both feature the toe-separating component and “Y” shaped straps, and they both create a “flip-flop” sound as you walk in them. But there is a contrast between the two styles.

When to Wear Flip Flops

Some people believe that flip-flops are never suitable. However, there are situations when flip-flops are not only suitable, but also fantastic. Try buying some Wedding flip flops

At the Beach

Nothing beats a pair of flip-flops at the beach. While some would argue that wearing heels or wedges improves your appearance, don’t believe them. Who wants to walk over the sand in high heels? And who wants to get their prized shoes wet? If you plan on going near the water, stick to basic waterproof flip-flops, but search for attractive alternatives with patterns, colours, and embellishments that set them out from the throng. If a vacation to the beach is primarily about looking pretty on the boardwalk for an hour or two and not going near the sand or water, you can pick form over function and wear a dressier thong.

Everyday Casual Wear

There’s no reason why you can’t wear flip-flops during your everyday routine while you are not at work. Trips to the post office, gas station, grocery store, deli, coffee shop, or simply hanging out with pals all count as flip-flop friendly agendas in my book, but if you move in more critical circles, slip on a pair of dressier thong sandals.

When Not to Wear Flip Flops

Many offices have dress codes, and you are presumably well aware of yours. Even if there isn’t a regulation prohibiting wearing flip flops to work, they aren’t the most professional look. They are easy to put into a bag, making them ideal for wearing to and from work, but when you are at work, stick to more polished types.

Unless otherwise mentioned by the person inviting you to the event, flip flops should not be worn to, Restaurants that use cotton napkins, Red carpet events, Churches, funerals, business meetings, first dates, and blind dates
